The Rigging Handbook 

This is one for the owner who wants to do his own work.  It deals with rigging in both traditional and modern materials - and is especially valuable for off shore sailors who want to feel secure in the knowledge that should rigging carry away at sea they will be able to repair it.  I particularly liked the drawings, the descriptions of rigging knots  - and the addition of sensible calculation -  methods of arriving at soft eye circumferences for rigging to spars, or minimum sheave diameters, for example.  The book also deals with wire handling and the stepping of masts and the design of suitable rig
